Sales Representative – Midwest Region
Location: Head quarters in Kansas City / Midwest travel
Type: Full-time
Start: As soon as possible
Help bring virtual fencing to cattle producers across the Midwest - and be part of building Monil’s presence in the United States!
Monil is a fast moving company building virtual fencing technology for grazing livestock. Founded in Norway, the company has already introduced the system to livestock operations across Europe and experienced strong growth, with sales increasing by 350% in 2025.
Our system helps cattle producers manage grazing more efficiently, expand access to pasture, and reduce the time spent building and maintaining physical fences.
The Opportunity
Monil is now establishing its first presence in the United States—at a time when virtual fencing is beginning to take off across the US. Our base is in Kansas City, and our initial focus for 2026 is working with cattle producers across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.
Monil’s initial US setup consists of a small team on the ground in the Kansas City region, temporarily relocated from Monil’s European team. Over time, responsibility for the US business will transition to a permanently Midwest‑based team. New hires will become the first members of Monil’s long-term US team and will play key roles in building and shaping the company’s presence in the United States.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy building together as part of our team, we would love to hear from you!
Who You Are
You have experience in agriculture, ideally cattle, grazing, or livestock production.
You are comfortable walking onto a ranch and having practical conversations with producers.
You enjoy working in the field and spending time around livestock operations, but you are also comfortable spending time on the phone and at a desk following up with producers and moving deals forward.
You have hands-on sales experience or an education related to sales, agriculture, or agribusiness.
You are organized and proactive, and you take ownership of solving problems.
You are self-motivated and comfortable working independently. We are still building and improving things together as a team.
You can explain technical solutions in a practical, straightforward way.
You are excited about joining early and helping build something new.
Whether you have sold feed, animal health products, equipment, seed, or ag technology - or you come from a ranching background and want to move into sales - we are open to strong candidates who understand the industry and know how to build trust with producers.
What You’ll Do
Meet directly with cattle producers and ranchers across Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.
Conduct on‑farm demonstrations and guide producers through the buying process.
Prospect new opportunities and close sales through phone outreach, follow-up conversations, and inbound interest.
Support producer meetings, demo days, and industry trade shows.
Work closely with the Farmer Success Manager to ensure customers get started successfully.
Maintain relationships with customers after the sale and identify opportunities for expansion.
Share feedback from the field to help improve product fit, messaging, and the overall customer experience.
Continuously improve how we sell, using feedback from producers and real-world field experience to refine the sales process and make it easier for ranchers to adopt the technology.
This role combines field work with regular phone and desk time. Some days, up to 3 days a week, will be spent travelling to visit ranches and attend industry events, while others will be focused on phone outreach, follow‑ups, and organizing opportunities. The right person enjoys both sides of the work: building relationships in person and maintaining momentum through calls and conversations.
How We Work
Monil already has experience and working methods from Europe. The US team will use what works, while adapting and rebuilding the parts that do not translate directly to the American market or are too heavy for a young organization.
We move quickly and learn in the field. We do not overbuild processes early. Instead we focus on doing the work, learning from it, and building structure as patterns emerge.
This is not corporate, scripted sales with tidy meeting rooms and full desk days. Much of the work happens in trucks, by phone, on ranches, and at pasture gates. Success comes from hustle, relationship‑building, and learning directly from producers.
Because Monil is still early in the US market, everyone contributes where needed. You will have a clear focus on sales, but the people joining now are expected to step in, solve problems, and help move the business forward wherever they can.
What We Offer
The opportunity to help build Monil’s presence in the United States from the ground up.
A product that livestock producers are already using successfully in Europe.
Significant autonomy and the chance to shape how the company grows in the Midwest.
Competitive base salary with performance‑based compensation.
The opportunity to grow with the company as the US team develops.
A straightforward, practical company culture focused on solving real problems for producers.
How to Apply
Send us your background and experience, and a short note about why this opportunity interests you.
We are not looking for a perfect résumé. We are looking for someone who understands agriculture, knows how to build relationships, and wants to help grow something new.
More About Monil
Monil develops virtual fencing technology that allows livestock producers to manage grazing without physical fences. The system uses GPS-enabled collars and a mobile interface to guide animals and control grazing areas, helping producers manage pasture more precisely and reduce the time spent building and maintaining traditional fencing.
Beyond fencing, the technology also provides better visibility into animal movement and grazing patterns. By combining positioning data with practical management tools, Monil aims to help livestock operations run more efficiently while improving pasture utilization and animal welfare.
